Our Story
Mark Menendez is an interior architect and designer who brings a truly global perspective to every design he creates. Growing up between the coastal regions of Spain and England, it’s no surprise that his first loves were the sea and the street. While studying at Coventry University, Mark designed two award-winning projects – one a speed boat, and one an eco-driven motorcycle concept.
After graduation, Mark broadened his pool of inspiration while living in Sicily, Amsterdam and London and working on projects from New York to Europe to Hong Kong. Cutting his teeth under the tutelage of iconic designer Marc Newson, Mark was a core part of the team that designed M/Y Solaris.
Mark has also collaborated on a wide range of yacht, hospitality and residential design – including a bespoke range of furniture – with the likes of Joseph Dirand, Martin Kemp Design and Peter Marino.
Now with nearly two decades of experience under his belt, Mark is emerging as a designer to watch. Having moved his home base to the historic city of Richmond, Virginia, USA, Mark finds joy in transforming spaces around the world.
Light and dark, ethereal and grounded, refined and artful – Mark’s is inspired by the juxtaposition, the need for balance. He marries a deep understanding of what form meets function really means with a nuanced respect for natural materials. Taking onboard the serene refinement of East Asian design principles and the richness of historic details, Mark designs truly unique spaces built for comfort and calm.
Mark is constantly expanding the Studio and can accommodate any size of project – from singular private renovations to large-scale developments. Get in touch at hello@markmenendezstudio.com to learn more.
